Wake Up and Smell The Corndogs

One of the things I look forward to each year is the opening of the L.A. County Fair. Sure, I go every year and nothing ever really changes, but there is something that keeps calling me back time after time.

Perhaps it is the carnival atmosphere. But I believe the one main thing that keeps calling is the desire to see what they will deep fry next. This year the list is long. Bacon cheeseburgers, hot dogs, white castle, pickle dogs, pop tarts, klondike bars, candy bars, and believe it or not, banana splits.

While I try not to indulge too much, I have been known to slip in a corn dog or two.

I am always afraid that I will turn around, dog in hand, to see my doctor staring back at me. Then I have to try and convince him that they are for the wife.

Another thing I love about the fair is that I go with those I love and care about and you can't put a price on that. It has almost become a family tradition.

So starting this weekend, maybe I'll see you there. And don't forget to say hello if we meet up.

I just have to find out how they are going to deep fry that banana split.

Introduction-The Purpose

Since I am new to this blogger thing, it might take me a while to get the hang of it.

I plan on sharing my thoughts about life based on what I have learned over the years.

Since I have been married to the same person for 38 years and have 3 grandchildren, with another due at the end of September, I plan on sharing from a different viewpoint.

Stay tuned. You never know what you might get. I guarantee it will be an honest look at life through the eyes of Gramps.
